When my Mum was being treated at the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre, she was one of the first people to use cooling caps that were purchased with funds raised for 24-hour fight against Cancer Macarthur. I was blown away by the number of pieces of equipment with a plaque that read ‘Purchased with funds raised by 24-hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur.’
I love that every dollar raised goes directly to provide the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre, the Oncology Ward and the Paediatric Ambulatory Care Unit at Campbelltown Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit and associated Outreach service at Camden Hospital with the extra services and equipment they need to assist in the treatment, care and comfort of children and adults dealing with cancer.
The Charity is a 100% Volunteer Committee, with expenses covered by Local Businesses and Service Clubs.
With my mum and Aunty both breast cancer survivors, and my sister a brain cancer survivor, 24-hour as a charity is very near and dear to me personally and I ask for you to show your support by a donation, buying a raffle ticket, or attending an event. Plus, loads of ways to show your support by not spending, such as liking the charity Facebook page, or joining Team Pineapple on the walk 14-15 October, in Campbelltown.
I hope to see you there.
